HYPRSKN is built on safety. The foundational material in all our nanotechnologies is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a medical-grade polymer, which has been safely used in medicine for over 70 years in dermal fillers, replacement hips, bone cement and more. By using this advanced material, we are limiting skin and cell contact and enhancing biocompatibility.

Recent studies have suggested that some tattoo ink particles migrate from the initial tattoo site to other areas of the body, such as the liver or lymph nodes. The particles are transported by immune cells and their accumulation in other organs can potentially lead to chronic inflammation or other adverse health effects. The size of these particles is usually below 200nm, suggesting that particles above that size more likely will stay where they are implanted.
Though tattoos have been commonly applied to humans for thousands of years, more research is necessary to fully understand the long-term impacts of tattoo ink on the body. As always, it is recommended to consult with a medical professional before getting a tattoo or if any concerns arise following a new tattoo.
